MMU, in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), worked to reduce landfill waste and promote sustainable tourism during Songkran, a cherished Thai tradition. Waste sorting stations were set up throughout the 5-day event, and the collected waste was properly managed afterwards.

For this New Year event, besides setting up waste sorting stations, we transformed waste into inspiration by creating an exhibition booth featuring the works of Ae-Wichuda Pantaranuwong, a Thai artist and designer who turns waste materials into creative artworks. The exhibition reflects perspectives and inspirations on resourcefulness, and also showcases upcycled products from the community.

Design a waste management system within the food festival, emphasizing systematic separation from the beginning. Reduce landfill waste and forward recycled materials to appropriate processes, and communicate to participants to understand and participate through representatives from local people who come to provide knowledge.

Designed and managed a waste management system for a beachside music festival to ensure that fun leaves no trace on nature. We created waste-sorting stations that were both user-friendly and clearly communicated, turning waste disposal into an integral part of a sustainable festival experience.
